Creating an OEM/Private Label Program

Delivering consistency across multiple materials

In 2004 a major mass merchant asked ProCorp to bid for a promotional end-cap program. The program consisted of four different items: a tea kettle made of carbon steel with enamel coating; a colander with enamel coating; a Melamine mixing bowl set; and a ceramic crock with a set of nylon tools tucked inside.

To sustain a consistent brand and look throughout the line, all product colors had to match despite different materials and manufacturing processes: baked enamel on steel, ceramic and plastic injected molding.

The project also had to be coordinated between three separate factories located outside of Shanghai, in three separate directions and at least five hours apart. Once completed, all items had to be dispatched from a single port. With the help of our Shanghai office and the relentless efforts of our merchandisers and quality inspectors, we were able to keep all factories in clear communication and in focus with the project.

The project was delivered on time, with consistent color, high quality, and at a competitive price. Additionally, we provided services the customer could not have implemented on their own or through a Chinese trading company, including the investment of special lighting equipment that replicated in-store lighting fluorescent conditions to ensure colors were acceptable for in-store merchandising. Our unique competencies allowed our customer to achieve the results as if they had their own company in China.
